BINI is giving “A Parallel World” another moment in the spotlight, this time with iconic Filipino singer and Broadway legend Lea Salonga joining the girls for a fresh take. BINI’s original “A Parallel World,” released on July 23, 2026, already has a spot on the soundtrack of DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island. But the 37-track lineup has another surprise at the very end: “A Parallel World (Amping Mix),” a reimagined version featuring BINI and Lea Salonga.
BINI’s “A Parallel World” lands at Track 4, while the Amping Mix takes the No. 37 spot as the soundtrack’s closing track. The reimagined version gives the song another identity, with Lea adding her voice to a new version created for Forgotten Island. That means Blooms are getting two versions of the song, and one of them brings these two powerhouse Filipino acts together. Now that’s a soundtrack moment worth talking about. It’s a fun full-circle moment for a song that now gets to live in two different forms on the same soundtrack.
The BINI collaboration is only one part of Lea Salonga’s Forgotten Island appearance. She is also credited on “Ninakaw Sa Akin,” “Magnanakaw,” “Balik,” “Bahagi Mo,” and “Ang Manananggal Suite” alongside Filipino-American composer Nathan Matthew David, giving Lea several musical appearances across the soundtrack. Aside from the soundtrack, she also voices the film’s Manananggal, making her presence part of both the movie’s story and its music. So yes, the “A Parallel World” collaboration may be the headline moment for Blooms, but Lea Salonga also has plenty more musical territory to explore throughout the film.
P-pop powerhouse SB19 also joins the soundtrack with “Mga Kababayan,” their rendition of Francis Magalona’s iconic track. Together with BINI’s two appearances on “A Parallel World,” the two groups give P-pop a solid presence across the Forgotten Island lineup. The soundtrack also brings together Filipino and Filipino-American artists including H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Sophia Laforteza of KATSEYE, Ruby Ibarra, Carl Angelo, Nico Santos, Guapdad 4000, and P-Lo.
Set in the 1990s, Forgotten Island follows best friends Jo and Raissa, voiced by H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, after a mysterious portal sends them to the enchanted island of Nakali. The film’s soundscape follows that journey, with composer Nathan Matthew David drawing from ’80s pop and hip-hop while also bringing in traditional Filipino instruments and a Filipino choir singing Tagalog phrases.
So while “A Parallel World” gives the soundtrack a major BINI moment, the wider musical world of Forgotten Island is also deeply connected to Filipino sounds and influences.
The Forgotten Island soundtrack arrives on digital streaming platforms on September 18, 2026, just ahead of the film’s September 23 Philippine theatrical release and its September 25, 2026 wider theatrical release.
