27-year-old Filipino singer Matty Juniosa delivered a show-stopping audition that earned him Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer, sending him straight to the semi-finals. Matty’s path to this moment was built on persistence and growth. At age 20, he joined Idol Philippines Season 1, earning a standing ovation during his audition and advancing to the Top 12 before being eliminated in the live rounds. After the show, he joined iDolls, a vocal trio formed by Idol Philippines finalists, including Lucas Garcia and Enzo Almario. The group performed together for three years, releasing music and competing in Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3 (2021). The group disbanded in 2022 when Matty moved to the UK to study Musical Theater at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on a partial scholarship.
Now based in Glasgow, Matty balances part-time work as a waiter with theater roles, including Sonja in Oscar at the Crown (2025) and Muzha in the musical Ne Zha (2026), continuing to hone his craft and stage experience.
