P-pop enters a new international space as BINI and SB19 are officially included in the soundtrack lineup of DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film “Forgotten Island”. With this announcement, two of the most prominent P-pop groups join a project that brings together artists from different parts of the global music scene.

BINI’s Original Track and SB19’s Cultural Rework

BINI joins the lineup with an original track titled “A Parallel World,” bringing their bright, polished pop sound into the emotional world of the film. Meanwhile, SB19 delivers a powerful cover of “Mga Kababayan” by Francis Magalona, reintroducing a Filipino classic that carries strong cultural weight and identity.

Together, they highlight the strength and diversity of both P-pop and Filipino music, bringing their sound into a global cinematic space.

A Diverse Soundtrack Cast

Beyond P-pop, the soundtrack features a mix of established and emerging artists. H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, who voice the film’s protagonists, also lead the title track “BRB,” blending emotional delivery with Tagalog lyrics. Sophia Laforteza of KATSEYE offers a fresh take on INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart,” while Ruby Ibarra and Carl Angelo deliver “Salbahe Ako.” The lineup also includes well-known tracks such as DMX’s “Party Up” and Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out,” adding both nostalgia and energy to the soundtrack’s overall soundscape.

Tony Award-winning Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga also lends her voice to the project, contributing to the film’s sound design and portraying the Dreaded Manananggal, adding a layer of depth and legacy presence to the production.

A Story Centered on Connection and Memory

At its core, Forgotten Island follows Jo and Raissa, two lifelong friends who are pulled into the mysterious world of Nakali during what was meant to be their final night together. Their journey unfolds into a struggle centered on identity, memory, and the bond they are trying to preserve.

P-pop Expands Its Global Footprint

Outside the film, both groups are actively expanding their reach. BINI has launched their BINI Signals World Tour, bringing their performances to overseas audiences. SB19 will be holding their “I Was There” Thanksgiving Fanmeet in Japan and the USA, alongside their upcoming Lollapalooza 2026 appearance. Both groups are also scheduled to perform at Summer Sonic Festival 2026 in Japan, marking another major step onto one of the world’s biggest music festival stages.

From soundtrack placements to international tours and major festival appearances, SB19 and BINI continue to contribute to the steady rise of P-pop’s global presence, building momentum across music, film, and live stages.
