Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, known as J2X, steps deeper into his solo era as the music video for his latest single “AKONGAPALASI” prepares for its first unveiling at an exclusive launch event on May 9 (7PM) at the Blank Space Bar, Mandaluyong. It marks his first full visual introduction as a solo artist under 1Z Entertainment.
The track “AKONGAPALASI” is rooted in an earlier version called “Ako nga pala si JAY” that he performed during World of Dance Philippines in 2019. Over time, it evolved into a more refined and personal statement under his J2X identity.
The track officially dropped on April 18, 2026, the same day he performed it live at SB19’s Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale, turning its release into a defining career moment. He later brought the song to television with his All-Out Sundays stage debut on April 26, 2026.
Before his solo era, Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, was part of XB Gensan as one of its key members. The dance crew rose to prominence after winning grand champion on It’s Showtime in 2010 and later gained international recognition by winning the Dance2Dance World Streetdance Showcase in Zurich in 2015 and 2016.
He also served as Dance Authority on GMA’s Stars on the Floor, joining the judging panel across Season 1 and Season 2 as Coach Jay, where he contributed choreography expertise in performance evaluation and mentorship.
From underground battles to global pop stages, J2X became a core creative force behind SB19’s performance identity. He helped shape the choreography for “Gento,” “Dam,” “Dungka,” and more, transforming movement into storytelling.
He later stepped into his own spotlight under 1Z Entertainment, making his live debut as J2X during SB19’s Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale, where his solo identity fully emerged on stage.
The “AKONGAPALASI” MV launch party on May 9 marks the start of a new visual era for J2X, expanding his work beyond choreography into full performance storytelling. He is also part of the upcoming Stella Dance Jam 2026 alongside Rie Hata, SB19, XONARA, and RHT, a cross-cultural dance showcase bridging Filipino and Japanese performers.
