Some chapters end far sooner than anyone expects, and for NewDAYs, this is one of those moments. NEW:ID has officially parted ways with MLD Entertainment after the South Korean agency announced that both sides had mutually agreed to end their exclusive contracts.

The Chapter Comes to a Close

On August 1, NEW:ID shared MLD Entertainment’s official statement on Facebook announcing the mutual termination of the group’s exclusive contracts following careful discussions. The South Korean entertainment company shared that the decision was reached with mutual respect, while thanking the members for their dedication, hard work, and the meaningful memories they created together over the past two years. The agency also encouraged NewDAYs to continue supporting the five members as they begin new chapters in their careers.

A Heartfelt Message for NewDAYs

While MLD Entertainment thanked the members for their dedication and wished them success in whatever comes next, it was NEW:ID’s own message that truly tugged at fans’ hearts.

In a handwritten letter, the five members looked back on the road they shared with NewDAYs, thanking everyone who believed in them from the very beginning and stayed through every season, even when new music and activities felt far apart. They admitted the decision wasn’t an easy one, but said they believed it was the right step moving forward. Instead of ending their message with a goodbye, they chose words that perfectly reflected the hope they wanted to leave behind: “See you later.”

From Dreamers to NEW:ID

Long before fans knew them as NEW:ID, Wilson, L, Thad, Macky, and Yom were chasing the same dream on Dream Maker. Although they didn’t earn a spot in HORI7ON’s final lineup, their journey was only beginning. MLD Entertainment brought the five together and gave them the chance to continue training in South Korea. They introduced themselves through pre-debut tracks like “E.R.” and “Deja Vu”, giving future NewDAYs an early glimpse of the talent and chemistry they were building.

Their debut became reality on July 25, 2024, when NEW:ID officially debuted with their first EP, “New Ego,” led by the title track “Ghost.” From that moment on, the group continued to prove themselves with polished performances, impressive vocals, sharp choreography, and a genuine passion that made every stage feel like it belonged to them.

Over the past two years, NEW:ID showed just how much they had grown since their trainee days. Every performance and every opportunity became another chance to showcase their talent and the bond they shared as five artists chasing the same dream. That’s why the announcement came as such an emotional surprise. Just a few months earlier, on March 30, 2026, NEW:ID was still performing in front of fans at the Kaogma Festival in Camarines Sur, making it hard for many NewDAYs to imagine that this chapter in NEW:ID’s journey would come to a close.

Wherever Tomorrow Leads

Although NEW:ID’s journey with MLD Entertainment has come to an end, the memories they created with NewDAYs won’t fade with one announcement. Through their passion, perseverance, and undeniable talent, NEW:ID left a mark that fans will continue to cherish.

While this chapter has closed, the members made it clear that they prefer a “see you later” over a goodbye. As each one of them begin a new path, NewDAYs will surely be cheering them on every step of the way, hoping this farewell is simply the start of something even brighter ahead.
