SB19 brought Filipino music to one of Japan’s biggest music festivals with a powerful two-day Summer Sonic 2026 run, performing in Osaka on August 14 before heading to Tokyo on August 15. The P-pop group took the MASSIVE STAGE in Osaka and the PACIFIC STAGE in Tokyo, delivering nine-song sets across both days with a few changes between performances and a surprise appearance from Kento Nakajima, a Filipino-Japanese singer and actor.

The Japan stages followed SB19’s historic Lollapalooza 2026 performance in Chicago, continuing their international run at Summer Sonic with their music, choreography, and signature stage presence.

Osaka Opens the Summer Sonic Run

SB19 began their Summer Sonic journey at the MASSIVE STAGE in Osaka on August 14. Their nine-song set opened with “DAM” and “GENTO,” followed by their fan-favorite hits such as “LAWLESS,” “Emoji,” “Quit,” “Memories,” “VISA,” and “DUNGKA!” The set ended with “CRIMZONE” as an explosive finale, with the crowd singing along and moving to the iconic “drip drip drip” part of the song.

The performance gave Osaka a full showcase of SB19’s high-energy style, with powerful choreography and crowd interaction throughout the set. Performance footage from the show also captured Stell and W3 dancers incorporating a Brazilian dance step into “GENTO,” creating another memorable moment for fans watching the performance.

SB19 later looked ahead to Tokyo, thanking their Osaka audience after the performance and expressing their excitement to see everyone again for the festival’s next Japan stop.

Tokyo Brings an Epic GENTO Surprise

SB19 returned the following day for the PACIFIC STAGE in Tokyo on August 15, where “GENTO” became the setting for a special Filipino-Japanese collaboration. Kento Nakajima joined the group onstage, performing his own Japanese verse of the song and dancing alongside the members.

The moment had been quietly teased before the show. SB19 had shared a photo with Kento after having yakiniku together, hinting that something could be in the works. The two had also met the previous year and appeared together on TikTok, dancing to SB19’s “GENTO” and Kento’s “Idolic.”

Tokyo also received a refreshed setlist. SB19 kept “DAM,” “GENTO,” “LAWLESS,” “Emoji,” “VISA,” “DUNGKA!,” and “CRIMZONE,” while adding “Moonlight” and “I Want You.” The two new additions replaced “Quit” and “Memories” from the Osaka performance.

Japan Joins the SB19 Conversation

The excitement surrounding SB19’s Summer Sonic appearances continued online. SB19 generated massive social media activity and trending conversations, with performance clips and reactions circulating widely after both Japan stages. Japanese fans also took to social media to share their amazement and enthusiasm over SB19’s performances, powerful vocals, and stage presence, adding to the growing online buzz surrounding the group’s Japan activities.

The two festival appearances gave SB19 distinct highlights across both cities, from the Brazilian dance moment in Osaka to Kento’s surprise appearance in Tokyo. Rather than simply repeating the same performance, the group gave each appearance its own flavor while bringing the explosive performance energy SB19 is known for.

The Japan Journey Continues

Summer Sonic may have wrapped, but SB19’s Japan chapter is not over yet. The group is set to hold its first-ever special fan meeting in Japan, the “I WaS THERE” Thanksgiving Fanmeet, on August 18, 2026, at KT Zepp Yokohama

From Osaka to Tokyo, SB19 has added another major international festival milestone to its 2026 journey. And with Japanese fans continuing to discover and celebrate their music, the P-pop Kings are keeping the momentum going in Japan.
