P-pop is making another historic milestone, with SB19 leading the way to a major international awards nomination. The Kings of P-pop SB19 and the Queen of C-pop JOLIN have earned another major international milestone as their “Emoji” collaboration scores a nomination at the Weibo Music Awards 2026 for the Song of the Year – Overseas category. 1Z Entertainment shared the nomination news, with Weibo Music Awards featuring SB19 and JOLIN’s “Emoji” in its 2026 recommendation list.
The nomination also marks a historic first for P-pop, with SB19 becoming the first P-pop group to receive a nomination at the Weibo Music Awards.
“Emoji” was released on March 27, 2026, as part of SB19’s album Wakas at Simula. Its official music video also premiered on March 27, giving fans the song and its futuristic visual world on the same day.
The collaboration traces back to the Hito Music Awards in Taipei on June 21, 2025, where SB19 performed and JOLIN served as the closing act. Their connection eventually grew into “Emoji,” with JOLIN describing their first online creative meeting as a “blind date” as they explored how to bring their different musical worlds together.
Just days after its release, “Emoji” was already making moves across Asian music platforms. For the March 27 to April 2 period, it debuted at #1 on KKBOX Top 10 Debut Singles and reached #5 on its Top 10 New Singles. The song also landed at #5 on KKBOX Taiwan’s Top Western Daily New Singles Chart and #9 on its Top Western Daily Singles Chart on April 1. Its music video also reached #10 on YouTube’s Trending Music Videos in Taiwan.
The track also entered QQ Music’s Weekly Top Western Songs Chart and climbed to a #2 peak on the HITO Japan/Asia Music Chart, further extending the collaboration’s reach across the region.
That international chart momentum now leads into another major milestone. The Weibo Music Awards 2026 is an annual music awards event connected to Weibo, one of China’s major social-media platforms, making the nomination another significant point of visibility for SB19 and P-pop in the Chinese-language music space.
The Weibo Music Awards 2026 final results will be announced on September 17. Until then, “Emoji” stands as another major P-pop crossover moment, bringing SB19’s music into an even wider Asian audience.
From its March 27 release to international chart appearances, and now a major Weibo Music Awards nomination, “Emoji” has continued to travel far beyond its starting point. P-pop has another international milestone to celebrate, and SB19 is right at the center of it.
